EUNIC Egypt cluster hosts Mobility Scheme visit in Cairo

EUNIC Egypt cluster welcomes colleagues in Cairo for a Mobility Scheme visit alongside Regional Cluster Seminar.

Four participants from Arts Council Malta, Instituto Cervantes in Algeria, and British Council HQ had the opportunity to gain insight into the European-Egyptian Cultural Programme (EECP), led by the Egypt cluster in collaboration with the EU Delegation, and explore topics such as EUNIC grants, art residency programmes, capacity building, and the intersection of climate and culture.

The participants also had the chance of attending two events by EUNIC Egypt partners on Sunday 9 February, namely: Minds in Groove Exhibition at DARB1718, by EUNIC grantee Farida Youssef, and the closing performance of Arts from Upper Egypt at the Italian Institute.

The programme featured sessions on EUNIC activities in Egypt and the EECP, including testimonials from local partners: Hana El Beblawy, ARD Art Institution founder, Youhana Nassid, Animatex Founder and Amgad Aggag, The Archive Collective Founder. The programme also explored Sabbart, an event organised by EUNIC Egypt addressing how arts and culture can contribute to a more sustainable future.

With the Mobility Scheme visit running alongside the EUNIC regional seminar for clusters in the MENA region, a wider group of EUNIC colleagues were able to exchange and connect with local cultural organisations in Cairo, including ARD art institution and Very Nile.

A big thank you to the Instituto Cervantes in Cairo and ARD Art Institution for hosting the sessions.
